Project Exploring novel nuclear protein-coding genes for use in metazoan molecular phylogenetic studies (Funded by NSF)
Extraction of DNA and RNA, RT-PCR, PCR, cloning and sequencing (using an ABI 377 automated DNA sequencer) of several nuclear DNA regions. PCR primer design. Construction and probing of cDNA libraries. (January 2003 – Present).

Project Molecular systematics of the avian order Gruiformes (Funded by NSF)
PCR and sequencing (using an ABI 373 automated DNA sequencer) of the Gruiform 12S mtDNA gene. (January - June 2002).

Project Metazoan Molecular Phylogeny
Extraction of DNA and RNA, RT-PCR, PCR, and sequencing (using an ABI 373 automated DNA sequencer) of the COI, Elongation factor 1- alpha, and Na+/K+ ATPase alpha subunit genes from several animal phyla; metazoan phylogenetic analyses using PAUP* (August 2000 - August 2001).

Project Bivalves Culture, Program of Marine Resources Use and Assessment
Coordinator of the Bivalve Culture Techniques Module. Management of the research team's culture station and conduction of growth experiments for several species (Pectinidae and Pteriidae) under different culture systems and conditions (1997 - 1999).
