INTERNET COLLABORATIONS

The internet has provided a platform where people from around the world can interact and make art together. It starts with an introduction of two or more people (via social network, blog, chatroom, etc) and expands into collaborations in the forms of remakes, participation, installation, exquisite corpses, and organization.

Most often, these collaborations are made between people who have never met in person. And thus, the introduction via internet, the mutually conceived idea, and the bits and pieces that are made to create a whole.

Why is all of this important?
I think that as humans, we have a need for human connection. While we may not have face to fact contact with everyone we know and meet online, we are connecting with/being introduced to people we may not otherwise have known even existed.

And on top of all that, we can experience culture in more depth and at unthinkable speeds.
