Assess supervisor perceptions of personal and peer views of ethics, misconduct and reform efforts in a Midwestern agency under a DOJ consent judgement.

Developed and implemented a service learning project for students to collect data on roadway users on the SIUC campus to aid university police.

Developed survey instrument, sampling scheme, and interview protocol for community-wide random telephone survey of residents.

Surveyed all full-time college/university faculty teaching in criminal justice (and related) programs in Illinois to assess their professional goals, objectives, beliefs, attitudes and experiences.

Examining the structure, operation, methods and beliefs of racialist organizations.  Exploring their use of the Internet and other technologies to communicate, operate and recruit new members.  Studying the process by which members adopt racialist beliefs and the impact of these beliefs on other social relations.

1999                Michigan Firearms Initiative 

An examination of the nature and extent of criminal activity in a sample of young offenders incarcerated in Michigan (served as a Research Assistant).

1997                Traffic Enforcement in Meridian Township (MI)  

A study of patrol officer decision making behavior in traffic enforcement based on interviews and observations (served as a Research Assistant).

1997                National Police Survey on the Use of Juvenile Curfews 

National survey of the status of municipal curfew ordinances and local enforcement efforts by police agencies.  Project funded by the Regional Community Policing Training Institute (Wichita State University) and the National Center for Community Policing (Michigan State University) (served as the Project Coordinator).

1996 - 1998     Locally Initiated Research Partnership

Partnership study with the Lansing (MI) Police Department to assess the impact of organizational restructuring and reorientation on officer attitudes, service outcomes, and public perceptions (funded by National Institute of Justice grant) (served as the Project Coordinator).
