  • Acculturation, Trauma (modifiable factors; culturally appropriate treatment) International Students, Professional Identity formation, Groups.

Current Projects

  • Baseline levels of exposure to trauma and modifiable factors in rural areas.

  • Development and validation of a bilinear, multidimensional, multiethnic measure of acculturation.

  • Interrelationship of depression, coping mechanisms, and acculturation in international students.

  • Interrelationship of trauma, epistemological beliefs and resiliency in college students

  • The cognitive complexity of college counselors in relation to their clientele.

  • Validity of popular measures across cultures.

  • Group interventions with female adult survivors of child sexual abuse across U.S. cultures (white, African-American, Latina).

  • School counselor perceptions of real and expected professional roles in a rural environment.
