Halcott Townes (1796-1869), husband of Caroline Thurston and father of Thomas Warren Townes. He was born in Benton County MO and died in Springfield MO. Besides Thomas Warren, the marriage produced six other children: John Henry, William Franklin, George McDuff, Eliza Jane, Richard T., and Mary C. Townes. Halcott's parents were Thomas Townes (1752-1848, b. Halifax VA) and Sarah Wade. Thomas Townes's parents were John Townes (1622-1672, b. England, d. in Massachusetts) and Phoebe Lawson. John Townes's parents were John Townes (1575-1627, b. in England and d. in England) and Elizabeth Alice Clarke. No images of Halcott are currently available.
