Herbert Lee Townes Sr. (1883-1956), husband of Lola May Stafford and the father of Paul, William, Herbert Lee (Jr.) and Margaret Townes. Two of his sons, Paul and William, reported that he wrote a lot of "cowboy poetry," but Lee Hill's efforts to find the poetry have failed.
