About Me:

Hello Potential Employer,

My name is Leamia "Will" Schjang, and I am a recent college graduate within the field of Information Technology. I also am an extremely quick learner, and have developed a website for my daughter’s old daycare from the ground up (http://mypage.siu.edu/lwschjan/ and also check out http://mypage.siu.edu/lwschjan/web/web.html to view my personal website and some of my Photoshop work).

I am also a military veteran (of the U.S. Navy), and have gained a ton of organizational, team work, and working under immense pressure experience as a result. My duties within the armed forces required me to exercise my interpersonal skills, to be able to communicate effectively, to be a self-motivated worker, and to be able to work within/manage teams to get jobs done efficiently. My two major duties were to coordinate the area radar picture, and to manage the command's classified secret inventory. With both jobs I have had to develop interpersonal relationships, give presentations, and make sure information or items were organized in such a matter that personnel who needed them could get them easily.

As far as my professional experience goes, I interned within State Farm Insurance's Systems Department during the summer of 2008. It was during this time that I was able to work as part of a team within a professional environment. My time within this large corporate environment was very valuable, and I showed how I could handle major outside situations with relative ease (I worked while averaging about two hours of sleep each night due to the birth of my daughter early into the internship). I also showed that I can learn on the fly extremely quickly.
