Life in progress. Jackie is a doctoral student at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, pursuing her degree in Anthropology with a specialization in primate behaviour and cognition. She teaches the introductory Anthropology course: The Human Experience at SIUC, and conducts behavioural research on gibbons in Thailand at Khao Yai National Park. Driven to understand the human condition I have developed my career in anthropology within a framework that addresses the intrinsic balance in humans between culture and nature. I believe that anthropologists interested in primate behaviour have a unique ability to connect people with nature and their biological basis. This is the direction of understanding that I pursue in my life and my own research in primate behaviour and cognition. |
