Ronald Ray Schmeck signing at the Book Worm, one of the finest stores in Southern Illinois for new, used, and rare books.
The admosphere is that of a downtown New York or Philadephia bookshop.  The staff will tell you whether they have a
book and exactly where it's located.  They'll even take you to it.  Also, you can spend as much time as you like perusing the shelves and rooms full of lovely books.  It's a peaceful place to sit down and read for a while and hide from a crazy world  ;-)
This signing session focused on my representations of the plain and fancy pennsylvania dutch cultures as represented in my two novels The Other Side of the Middle and the sequel Further From the Middle with wonderful characters like Arsenic Schlank, Fat Schmidt, Mountain Mary, and as host of others.  Mountain Mary plays a role in the second book and she's a real life Pennsylvania Dutch pow wower or braucher or faith healer.  The folks in Oley Valley and Pike Township know all about her.  She believed in good food and nutrician obtainable from her own sustainable, organic agriculture.  And she believed in the power of prayer.

Sequel book jacket.
