When I first started piecing together my portfolio I learned a lot about who I am as a designer and the visual elements that interest me. I love color especially florescent attention grabbing ones that you cannot seem to take your eyes off of. The human figure is also a big influence on my tendencies to favour organic lines and shapes.
My interests are not only in illustration but also in graphic design as well. To begin a solid work a designer must jot down ideas on paper. It’s the best way to open your mind to creative risk taking.
Quick sketches that relate different subject matter helps gather a designer’s expectation for their own work. My sketch book is like my diary and my figurative thoughts are put onto a page. Illustrative thoughts spill out onto what was once a blank sheet of paper and it can be reassuring. At this point I know my design is worthy of advancing into something bigger.
