The Southern Illinois Metalsmiths Society is a registered student organization at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale IL.
SIMS is made up of graduate and undergraduate students who are interested in metal as an artistic medium. The purpose of the group is to promote the metalsmithing arts and to provide opportunities for learning and artistic expression. These opportunities are provided through workshops and lectures with skilled artists throughout the world, as well as contributions to the metals program at SIUC
